Eating habits begin at a very early age. What is a good choice and even what tastes good are learned experiences.By making fruits and vegetables fun and accessible to the very young we can start them off on the right foot.Edible Rainbow provides nutritional education by the color of the rainbow and allows kids hands on learning that will stay with them for many years. Age appropriate level allows for even the smallest kids to participate and learn about the value of blue foods versus the value of red or yellow foods. Recipes are crafted for taste, ease, and nutritional balance. Amidst all the after-school activities and surrounded by junk food messages it is easy for kids to make the wrong food choices. As parents and educators we know we need to teach children how to eat and live healthily. We are also challenged by the enormous impact of sweet and fatty fast foods, school lunches, and snack food commercials. These programs are designed to expose children to the benefits of eating healthy foods while they enjoy the fun of making their own delicious dishes. With each recipe children will develop independence and confidence in the kitchen as well as a new craving for colorful fruits and vegetables. |

Kids Cooking ClassesEach course will begin with tasting an assortment of raw fruits and vegetables of the color for the day and a discussion about their healthful benefits and a review of the food log for the previous week.
In teams, children assign cooking tasks and prepare their dishes while they also brainstorm about ideas for incorporating more of this color into their daily diets.
