Edible Rainbow

SCHOOLHOUSE EARTH PROJECTS

Eating habits begin at a very early age. What is a good choice and even what tastes good are learned experiences.

By making fruits and vegetables fun and accessible to the very young we can start them off on the right foot.

Edible Rainbow provides nutritional education by the color of the rainbow and allows kids hands on learning that will stay with them for many years. Age appropriate level allows for even the smallest kids to participate and learn about the value of blue foods versus the value of red or yellow foods. Recipes are crafted for taste, ease, and nutritional balance.

Amidst all the after-school activities and surrounded by junk food messages it is easy for kids to make the wrong food choices.

As parents and educators we know we need to teach children how to eat and live healthily. We are also challenged by the enormous impact of sweet and fatty fast foods, school lunches, and snack food commercials.

These programs are designed to expose children to the benefits of eating healthy foods while they enjoy the fun of making their own delicious dishes. With each recipe children will develop independence and confidence in the kitchen as well as a new craving for colorful fruits and vegetables.

Kids Cooking Shows

Each episode involves exploring and experiencing the deliciously nutritional benefits of antioxidants found in fruits and vegetables.

Each provides explanations about which beneficial antioxidants are contained in the fruits and vegetables of this color, examples of the best sources for this color of fruits and vegetables, and the most delicious way to prepare said fruits and vegetables.
